Grind & Shine Featured Artist: Ace Deuce

“Music for the mind, body, and soul.” That’s what Harlem native Ace Deuce describes his music. The youngest of 3 children, Ace always had a passion for music. Growing up listening to classic groups and artists from the 70s and 80s such as Delfonics, Blue Magic, Cheryl Lynn and countless others, he quickly fell in love with music and the words and meanings behind them.

As a teen he often wrote freestyles in his spare time, but usually wrote a lot of story telling rhymes to other artists instrumentals, or other instrumentals his friends would make. It wasn’t until a visit to Sony Music Studios in mid 2003 where he realized music would be his calling in life. While at a recording session with his cousin and others, he got to see how everything works in the studio, from the recording, to the mixing. He then decided to attend Touro College where he took up Digital Media Arts. At school he wrote and linked up with other students to work on music. He learned all he needed in this music program and used his skills to begin producing and engineering.

Ace has done some producing and engineering for local artist’s mixtapes and other projects. He continued to grind and perfect his craft while networking and meeting other producers, artists and industry insiders. He also got the chance to go to writing sessions at times with songwriters who were in the game for years. His hard work and perseverance paid off when he landed an internship with Mona Scott-Young(Love N Hip Hop) at her new company Monami Entertainment.

At Monami Entertainment, he really got to see how the industry works. Ace saw the steps taken to negotiate contracts, set up shows, music videos, preparing budgets, and other necessary things that make the music industry go round. Helping out artists such as Jim Jones, Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliot and others, he soaked all of this knowledge up and began to apply what he learned towards his music. Even Mona Scott and a few others encouraged him to never give up and do what he has to do to make his dream come true.

After parting ways and venturing out on his own, Ace still managed to do music for local artists. But then came a situation that would either make him or break him. He hit rock bottom and nearly lost everything, including his life. But these series of events he faced were not too much for him to handle, as he found more success with his music. He inked a tv/film licensing deal with Linnette Harrigan Media where he landed a song placement on the new season of Bad Girls Club Chicago. He also linked up with veteran producers and executives who have credits on major artists albums and mixtapes like Usher, Jay Z, Fat Joe, Fabolous, French Montana, etc. Other people are interested in Ace and he continues to network, attend meetings, and work with other producers to make hits. Things are looking up for Ace and he is only destined to keep going to the top.

Grind & Shine Featured Artist: Lil G

Lil G grew up in the Hollywood Heights neighborhood (aka Hollyhood or H-3 11) of Fayetteville, North Carolina. Being raised in Fayetteville aka ‘Fayettenam’, he started working on his first raps at the age of eleven with the help of his older brother, Styles. Working on music and being raised with a military structure, wasn’t enough to keep him out of the streets. While hustling he would eventually put out his first mix-tape, Beast Mode and follow it up with Beast Mode 2. However, the streets would finally get to him, which forced him to move to Texas, where his biggest musical influence, UGK, was located.

GRIND & SHINE FEATURED BEAT MAKER/PRODUCER: DEETAH MUSIC

ON SUCH SHORT NOTICE, I HAD A CHANCE TO PEEP FAM'S BEATS...BUT DON'T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT...CHECK OUT THE HOMIE DEETAH FOR YOURSELF!!

Tah Ismael Dembele, as known as Deetah The Masterpiece is from Yamoussoukro, Ivory Coast’s political capital. He has the same physique as Bob Marley and similar eyes to the late great Notorious BIG. While others appear to be trend followers, the difference lies within Deetah’s passion for hip-hop. A distinct characteristic Kool Herc and Afrika Bambaata developed in New York within a culture that would affect a younger Ismael in the continent of Africa.
Formerly known as D-Tah; D for Dembele and Tah for his first name, he later changed his stage name to Deetah The Masterpiece to make it memorable. A hip Hop Artist, producer, and owner of his own recording studio, Deetah is no stranger to hard work and dedication to the Hip-Hop way of life, and it shows in his productions.
Deetah started out in France with a group called “Da Mercure” in 2005. With the support of Paterne “Didi F” and “Icepeak” he recorded his first solo project in an appartment next to the beach in Antibes. A year later they would be performing in front of thousands of Hip-Hop heads in the south of france.
In 2007 with the help of Tunisian Music Producer Wechdi Trabelsi, head of Berbere Prod, he released a single to perform live alongside the legendary french rap group 113 in Bizerte (Tunisia) in front of 17000 fans. “One Two” was an instant succes and played in night clubs in Bizerte, Hammamet and Tunis.
In 2012, “Before The Masterpiece” is released independently on Itunes. Deetah did it all by himself: The beats, the recording, the mixing and even the graphic design. It was so important for him to have control over his own art and to keep putting out music that he didnt care for a label. Most surprisingly, “Before The Masterpiece” was popular among the Rap community in Ivory Coast and offered him the chance to get more fans and following. Tracks like “BabiCity” talked to the diaspora while “Im a lover” appealed to a wider audience.
By the end of the year 2013, Deetahmusic.com released “Cristal Clear“, Deetah’s first official music video. Directed by CBE, “Cristal Clear” won the first place at the Coast2coast Live Video Mixer Ed 06/13. Gathering more that ten thousand views on youtube, it was appreciated by Hip Hop purists and lyrically inclined music lovers.
Download “Cristal Clear”
Deetah lives in Montreal (Canada) where he continues his work. Joined by other artists, he’s part of a movement initiated in Ivory Coast to bring Hip-Hop back on the map in Western Africa. “Black Label” is a conglomerate of artists around the world perusing their dreams and working together. Having such a platform as a producer gave him the opportunity to launch Deetahmusic.com’s Freestyle sessions where he invites different rappers and singers to record over his own productions.
Deetahmusic.com launched an online High Quality Beats Store in February 2014,  and UIS (Uninterrupted Instrumentals Supply) to serve Hip-Hop & Rnb Indie music artists with a wide variety of well crafted instrumentals.
Deetah believes in a world of infinite possibilities, where an African child will not feel disadvantaged but equal to another anywhere else on planet earth

GRIND & SHINE FEATURED ARTIST: MISSISSIPPI SIPP

Terry Terell  Brisco (born January 12,1985), better known by his stage name Mississippi Sipp is an Ceo American rapper and southern song writer. True Playas, Pimps, Hustlas and Fans of Down South Hardcore Reality Rap know Rapper & Ceo Mississippi Sipp Of Kandy Paint Records talent and street fame like they know their own. As a young successful Player from the South and CEO of Kandy Paint Records Mississippi Sipp blazed the scene following local popular Southern rap acts such as Dj Bigg V (Fema Mixtape Vol 1.) Lower 9,BDP(BLACK DOGG POSSE),754 Boyz, Needle in a Haystack, Filthy South Coalition, Wrong Doing Records,Black Gold and countless of others to follow. As a Ceo,Artist,Song Writer,Producer and a Trill Hustler the LELAND MISSISSIPPI native is on the come up and is literally helping mold the sound of Southern rap music. Certain influences like Dj Screw, Master P,Juvenile, Project Pat, Baby, Lil-Keke, UGK, Mr.Pookie, SUC, LIL FLIP,CED T,3-6 Mafia, Playa Fly, Big Pokey and many other Houston Texas Rappers Help Gave Mississippi Sipp "DA NEW DOWN SOUTH SOUND". Born Terry Terell  Brisco in the small town of Leland Mississippi born & raised in the rough and tumble neighborhood of Black Dog on Caraway & Jackson Street where he experienced the various ups and down associated with being a young Black male growing up in the South. Like many southern areas in the late 80s Leland, Mississippi was hit with a crack epidemic that turned the once peaceful town upside down. Drugs and violence became a common place and Mississippi Sipp struggled to avoid the traps that the Streets and Court System set up for young black men. One of the things that helped him through his struggle was listening to music. As A big big fan of Down South Music Mississippi Sipp started his first rap group in the late 90's called Black Dog Posse Dope Boyz with his childhood friend Byron Jones. Later Mississippi Sipp and others from Leland, Mississippi ended up amongst the violence and Gun Play so Mississippi Sipp was forced to move to another location in Leland and also changed their name to the "MLK BOYS" due to the NEW area where they Chilled,Rapped and Trapped Dope at. Also everybody drove Red Cadillac cars. Mississippi Sipp first taste of success was when a local Artist and a close friend of his uncle Eric "Snoop" Brisco named Ced-T had gotten recognized by a local Texas record company called Rap-A-Lot Records but Ced T was later on Killed and gunned down in a neighborhood in Leland, Mississippi but not by any rivals but by a out of towner who was just a Jealous person. After all the heartache and pain of seeing a young Artist get Killed at the time Mississippi Sipp was at the age on the come up to where he can understand that even the closets or the person you look up too most can leave or get killed at any given moment. In 1998, Mississippi Sipp was forced to relocate in another rough area up north which was the Northern Virginia/Washington DC (DMV) area due to so much violence and gang banging in his Leland ,Mississippi neighborhood after he and others joined and restarted a long time click "VICE LORDS" were they only wore Redd and always kept trouble around since there was nothing left to do in Leland, Mississippi besides Rapping ,Dope Selling, Stealing,Smoking, Hustling, Keeping it Real or just living day to day Grind and day to day Crime. Mississippi Sipp dropped his national mixtape called Going Back To Leland. The mixtape contained the hit single from the underground film Down South Live&Uncut called Dirty Struggle a tale of a young hustler bleeding the block red. The record made Mississippi Sipp an instant local star but fans never took it serious for a young 14yr old at the time to say and talk about such harsh street tales also with the I-dont-give-a-fuck attitude on the mic and with no video or radio support the single was heard but after time passed by it was forgotten. As a result of all the negativity and moving back and forth from up north too going back down south to Leland, Mississippi and in & out of trouble his talent started to fade and all focus was lost but at the same time Mississippi Sipp continued to listen to all old school southern music especially "Screw Music" plus new and upcoming artists from the south with that being said gave him personal time to write for others and write his own songs from the struggles he was going through at the moment, Before Mississippi Sipp had a chance to give up his rap ambition another local CEO from up north by the name of Brian Pinkney heard Sipp flowing outside of a club one night and wanted to sign him instantly to his company called ASAP Records but instead he actually assisted Mississippi Sipp at establishing his own label Kandy Paint Records in the summer of May 2005. The soon to be success of the young Kandy Paint Records CEO is not only gonna make Mississippi Sipp the next biggest sensation out of the south but also will wake the world up and let them know that its more to music in the south other than Club Hopping, Big rims,Gold Teeth, Drugs ,Pimping  Hoes, and Sipping DRANK. Mississippi Sipp is one of the most sought after Ceo/Song writer/producer and rapper in the game as of 2013 and beyond. In the past 7 years he has produced records for many underground southern rappers and also has been featured on many underground albums and mixtapes. Now its time for Mississippi Sipp to release his own first and most anticipated album ever in between 2006-2007 called Cadillac Dope Boy which is on his self made label Kandy Paint Records. Cadillac Dope Boy named after Sipp's ambitious and successful skills, this is the first and most talked about underground Album including many more to come for the Leland, Ms native. The World should be on the look out for Mississippi Sipp and get prepared for the take over that Kandy Paint Records is in the mix of doing the south wont be the same after this company blow up in smoke just like previous success like other big companies No-Limit, Cash Money, Rap-A-Lot, Slip-N-Slide,SoSoDef, Trill Ent, Grand Hustle, Suave House, Hypnotize Minds(3-6 Mafia),Screwed Up Click, Swisha House, etc . . . . . . . . Kandy Paint Records 2015.....Mississippi Sipp Later released his second debut album "Tawk Real" in the summer of July 2008 independently. Mississippi Sipp is currently traveling the world off of his single "Rock N Roll"
